The Gremlins are a dysfunctional family of flight-obsessed creatures with a penchant for grease, automotive engines and potatoes. Entrepreneurially minded but plagued by naivety, they figure they might be able to get customers to fund their skyward ventures instead of needing to steal all their materials.
In a cunning bid to get airborne, they attempt to launch a budget airline. The passengers are in, the doors are closed - there's just one tiny problem...they haven't finished building the plane.
The Gremlins are a street/outdoor theatre project incorporating a range of clown and physical comedy elements through a unique culture and language. The Gremlins were initially developed for the Woodford Folk Festival in 2010 and trained by Cirque du Soleil alumnus Hayden Spencer before performing across Queensland over 3 years, including a 5 week residency at Cairns Festival and hit seasons at Woodford and Anywhere Festival.
Originally developed for Woodford Folk Festival as part of the Woodfordian Institute of Street Performance
